Octopus you will be talking about it for years. Four years ago I was kashering my burners and the blech was hanging over the computer panel of my oven and burnt it out. I couldn't cook or bake until the part was replaced. I couldn't get a new part until after Shavous, the company kept ordering the wrong one, wrong size etc.

Wow! One year we did that, but we have simple, old fashioned stoves so all that we did was melt the knobs.
Also, since the front panel was overhanging the knobs, we had to remove the blech before turning off the fire. We did that with pliers ( Rolling Eyes ) but couldn't hold onto it and the blech fell to the floor. Our newly kashered blech became chometzdik again and we had to buy a new one.
In the following years we learned to flip it, so that the overhanging side should be up.
