puzzle piece! I put together a 1000 piece puzzle and there is one piece missing. I guess one piece got lost the day my two year old tossed all the puzzle pieces across the room. Maybe I should put this in the mental health section. I'm truly irked.

I thought maybe you lost one of your 8 arms ...
call the company ...
cut out a piece of cardboard and draw the missing contents ...
it's like the puzzle never ends ...
oy vey - I feel for you ...

I'm inspired to open a business... you take a digital photo of your puzzle, I mail you back a custom made piece.

That is a great idea!
And this made me laugh:

Amusing little thread! Octopus, sorry for your angst!
The piece is around somewhere, though, right? I bet you'll find it...

Ouch! May you know no more tzaar.
There's this poem about a kid who's all upset because he's missing a puzzle piece. He says, "They lost it, the others. It's not the same now a piece of it's gone."
and his dad responds, "Put it together, the world's like that, too."

Shaklee, that's a great idea.
OP, why don't you take some clay and blend same colors. smear it in and it hardens. I've seen it done and once the puzzle is on the wall it won't be noticeable.

After working so hard on a beautiful puzzle, missing one piece is truly upsetting. I sympathize with you. In the meantime, give a penny to tzedakah and say 'Omar Rabbi Binyamin...' and search again.

A good idea. Have you heard of any puzzle companies replacing lost pieces? You have nothing to lose. Take a picture of the entire puzzle with the missing piece and include a lovely letter. It might yet work. Who knows?
Otherwise, you can enlarge the picture on the box and insert the piece that's missing into the puzzle.
Last choice, wait until next Pesach when this piece might reappear.

thanks for all the suggestions! some of them were really good! Before I do any of those, though, I'm going to have to do another search of the premises and hope that it will turn up.

After reading some of the threads here that make your heart go to pieces, I must say this one is great comic relief!!!
Octopus, I once had the same irking experience. I contacted the company and they send me a check for the amount of a brand new puzzle!
Hatzlocha, and may you never know more tzar then this!

Somehow I knew from the title that you were talking about a puzzle piece.
(I buy my kids puzzles so I could do them too. )

LOL after reading your post, I was thinking to myself "Story of my life". Don't you feel like every time you finally figure out an issue you are having, BAM 1 puzzle piece is missing.

My friend just suggested you might be able to cut out the piece from the pic of the puzzle on the box to fit.
g'luck.
