I'm not sure if this is the right section but I figured I would post it here.
My father in law is getting married in EY next month. This would be his and her second marriage. I know that people wear much simpler dresses to weddings in Israel than in America. I need to know what is appropriate to wear, first of all because the wedding is in Israel, and second of all, because this is my father in law's wedding. I would love to wear a gown or a gorgeous dress, because I feel pretty when I wear nice clothes, but I don't want to stand out too much as the "American" coming and being more dressed up than the bride!!
Can anyone tell me what would be appropriate to wear to the wedding?
TIA

A shabbos outfit. Try to find out what the kallah is wearing and wear something a few steps less dressy than that.

Mazel tov!
What time of the year will the wedding be?
And venue--indoor or outdoor?
I certainly will wear something comfortable. A friend got married nr Yamim Moshe outdoor chuppah, someone I know nearly trippled on her killer stilletto. Meanwhile I was sweating like a waterfall in my navy wool formal 2pc for a september wedding...

The wedding is at the end of August so I'm pretty sure it will be very warm outside-good point about the wool suit!
This gives me a great excuse to go shopping-Century 21 here I come!
