ds (4) and dd(2) have ~2 cups/day (including what's in cereal). They also have yogurt several days/week.
For me, that's how they get calcium, and the healthy cholesterol they (esp dd) needs for brain development.

Younger kids are supposed to have 2-3 sevings of dairy a day, so for breakfast, my kids will have cereal with milk, plain yogurt with fruit or berries, or oatmeal with a cup of milk/chocolate milk. Then they'll have chocolate milk with their lunch if it's not something cheesy. Older kids need more so I'll offer string cheese, smotthies, and occasionally pudding or real ice cream.

My dd never drank milk. She doesn't like it. She will take it with her cereal. Sometimes she will eat cheese on a rice cake but won't eat it in anything else. Occasionally she eats a yogurt (she used to eat more yogurt). She does like broccoli so that is good but it is expensive here.

no cow's milk, sometimes we have yogurts, once in a blue moon some cheese.
milk in my opinion is not as great as it is all hyped up to be. lactose intolerance is around 80% for eastern european jews, not to mention the other protein intolerances, and allergies.

My DS is 18 months. He still nurses a few times a day, gets about 4oz soy milk in the morning, and eats 1 cheese stick and sometimes 1 3oz yogurt per day.
