| |
I'm planning a vacation in Miami Florida; miami beach and Bal Harbour.
Are there any chocolate or sweet stores where I could buy a nice arrangement for the people we'll be staying with for shabbos?
Also, anyone know of a good place to eat for breakfast/lunch/Dinner? what would you recommend?
Thanks,

| The only thing I can help you with is a dinner situation. Even if you are not a steak fan (like my husband and I)grill time in miami has the absolutel best steak I've ever had. And the service is excellent

Go to http://shamash.org/kosher/ and the dropdown menu has Miami on the list.
When we went to Miami, that's the list we used, and we loved the restaurants we went to!
Definitely check out some of the Thai places!

there's a new chocolate store on 41st (miami beach) called schakolad- they will def have something appropriate for a gift.
some of my favorite restaurants:
for breakfast/lunch- tasti cafe (not cholov yisrael), lofty latte
for dinner: grill time, rare, cinecita (prob spelled wrong)
miami beach also has shemtov's pizza, bagel time, and kosher dunkin donuts (not cholov yisrael)
have fun!

The Italian Fleishig restaurant in Bal Harbor is great. I don't remember the name of it.
Also the Thia place in North Miami is wonderful, and if I remember correctly, not too expensive. _________________ Really Awesome Mom!

| If you go up to North Miami Beach, there's The Sweet Tooth and Le Choclatier.

YUM... the restaurants in Miami are delicious. So many choices. A warning though-they are always closing and opening and hashgachas can get pulled, so call and check every restaurant before you go there. I learned this the hard way. Hmm... my personal faves
1. Cinecitta-that's in Bal harbour and it has some delicious food-homemade pastas and heaven desserts.
2. China Bistro in Waterways-
3. Gourmet Carrot in South Beach-
4.I happen to love the sushi at Thai Treats,
I have heard rave reviews about Rare, but have never been,
My last visit down there my dh and I ate at a restaurant on Collins called Pagoda, and we had the best dinner ever. Sadly, I think it has since closed. But if it's still open it's delicious.
A money saving tip. On restaurant.com they often have deals where you can buy gifts certificates for lets say $50 off a $100 meal, or $25 off of $50 meal. And sometimes the website has specials where you can buy the certificates for only $3-8. So it's worth checking out to see of there are any specials on Kosher restaurants. Dansdeals.com, will often post the kosher restaurant specials.
Enjoy.

Grill time is great for suppers. I was never served how I was served there. For breakfast Id go to sarahs tent and buy some fresh food yummy baguets with herring and veggie salad. Huge selection.
Have fun! _________________ When the going gets tough, the tough gets going!

thanks all
I went to Shakolad - the new chocolate store - was very impressed. They were very accomadating, most of the store was not chalav yisroel, but there was still a nice selection.
As far as restaurants, seventeen, Sushi grill, shemtov's, bagel time (one more in waterways, by the bay next to Sarah's tent, I can't remember now) were all good.
my only disappointment was CineCitta Cafe in Bal Harbor - Food was ok, BUT I got food poisoning from there. (I know for sure it was from there, cuz I hadn't eaten anything from the morning, and then went there for dinner, and didn't eat anything after that) I went there the night b4 I left, and I was up all night vomiting etc. and had a flight in the morning...I left Florida sick.
