I know. Feeding kids Erev Pesach is impossible unless you strip them.

I "let" even though I'm not crazy about it. I'd rather spend a few weeks obsessing before Pesach than do that the whole year!

Food belongs in the kitchen and dining room, on flat easy-to-clean surfaces (plate, table). My sister and I were brought up that way, and found it easy to train our children to eat only at the table. Young children can learn to sweep under their chairs after eating, but I don't see them doing so if they are casual about carrying food around. Perhaps I am rigid about food to compensate for being a slovenly housekeeper, but I can't fathom vacuuming the whole house every day, never mind finding crumbs all over!

I'm vacuuming a whole day anyway, but it would be much more if there were food everywhere, for sure.
I just realized that I probably keep other things in reach of my kids that others don't, although these things aren't messy, but they can be broken. Whatever.

We have two floors and for sure there is never any food upstairs. Downstairs it's in the kitchen or dining room only. If they want to walk around and eat - they have to go outside!
