My husband has recently become allergic to wine, so we've been making kiddush on Kedem grape juice. A friend of his just told him that a number of years ago there was a question regarding Kedem, and if it could be used for kiddush. I guess there was a concern that it was too watered down, and therefore required the brocha shehakol. No one I've spoken to has heard about this.

Does anyone know what the situation is now?

are you asking specifically kedem? or grape juice?
I know of a family who uses grape juice all year round and on pesach uses kedem and so I would assume that it is hagafen.

I dont think kedem is watered down (its 100% juice)

the question about kiddush might be if kedem is considered mevushal or not.

It's hagafen. Even watered down grape juice (which it's not) is hagaffen.

do you mean the fizzy kind? that was a shaylah years back

the reguarl kind has to be watered down to less than half for shehakol

yes, it says that on the bottles - kosher for kiddush and 4 kosos. it's not watered down and it's hagufen. We usually use grape juice (whatever we have, mishpacha, kedem) for kiddush as my dh is not a big wine drinker
