Hi,
I am making a greek themed shabbat dinner for our chabad house. Any ideas out there? from salads, soups, main course to dessert!
Anything is helpful!

I love these dishes.
Greek Garlic Chicken
1 chicken, cut into eigths OR 4 chicken bottoms, thighs and legs separated
1 onion, cut into large chunks
1 lemon, quartered
lots of dried oregano
4 cloves fresh garlic, halved
salt
black pepper
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 cup white wine
3/4 cup black olives, coarsely chopped
more whole black olives for garnish
Preheat oven to 450'.
Place chicken in pieces in single layer, skin side up, in a 9x13 pan.
Add the onion chunks. Sqeeze the lemon quarters over the chicken, then add the lemon pieces to the chicken.
Season the chicken in the pan very generously with oregano.
Add the garlic and season with salt and pepper. Drizzle with the oil and wine. Toss the mixture together. Sprinkle the chopped olives over the chicken.
Bake, uncovered, for 45 minutes - 1 hour, or until chicken is fully cooked and no longer pink.
Garnish with a few whole olives.
Greek Couscous Salad
• 1 (10 oz.) package couscous
• ¼ teaspoon black pepper
• 2 tablespoons lemon juice
• 3 tablespoons olive oil
• 2 large tomatoes, chopped
• 1 medium zucchini, halved and thinly sliced
• lots of dried basil
• 1/3 cup scallions, sliced
• salt to taste
Prepare couscous according to package directions, except omit butter or olive oil and add black pepper with water.
In large bowl, combine prepared couscous, lemon juice and olive oil. Add tomatoes, zucchini, basil and scallions and salt to taste. Chill 4 hours or overnight.

*Stuffed grapevines, tzatzki, greek salad (tomato, onion, olives, cucumber cut in chunks in lemon/mint vinaigrette) for appetisers.
*Lots of lamb (either on skewers or in meatballs), moussaka, for main course.
*thin coiled pasta (first browned in oil, then cooked in a mix of tomato sauce and water), baked butterbeans, stewed courgettes/zucchini for sides.
*bimuelos (fried dough in honey syrup)/baklava/walnut cookies for desserts
don't forget arak/ouzo...
