I'm glad the word is getting out. I hope to see you there.
And maybe there will be somebody else there that does as many good things as you...

Great! Thanks for the feedback. Bais Rivkah wouldn't approve the flyer for distribution...

I'm not sure.
The administration there is rather controlling. Not very community oriented.
Maybe because I am not a school parent - but then, I couldn't possibly have kids in every school in Crown Heights, and the others were willing...

Perhaps you should ask them before you jump to conclusions & decide they're controlling & not community oriented.
The reason is...school policy. AFAIK, for years now they don't promote any events that are not either in their school (very few are) or are nor related in some way to BR. That's their choice. If you don't like it, well, that's unfortunate. But any institution has the right to set a policy & adhere to it. Insulting them certainly won't help you for future events.

Oh Bubby, it sounds like you're the only one that's allowed to vent.
I'm allowed to share my frustrations.
My nieces bring home many notes that are neither school related, nor for events take place in the school.
The school policy is not 'no flyers'. The school policy is that the administration needs to approve the flyers. They didn't share a reason. Just - NO.
Of course they are entitled to their own policy.
It would be sad to have a school without a backbone.
I wasn't using this forum to try and get back at anyone. Just sharing.
Sounds like you have very clear guidelines as to what is and isn't appropriate.
I'm sorry I don't meet your standards.
I hope you come tonight and introduce yourself.
