About 4 or 5 days ago, my 21 month year old had a little red dot on her cheek - since then it has grown to look like an inflamed pimple and she has two more starting out near her mouth.
I took her to the doctor bec' I was worried she might have caught mollucsum contagiosum from a neighbor who has it (it's a rash that can take 6 months to a few years to go away) and he said it's definitely not that. He said it looks like just pimples to him.
But my intuition tells me that it's not that. She never had any acne before and these don't start out looking like pimples, they start out as little red flat dots (also no white center or anything; just little red bumps). Also, they look related - even tonight I can see another patch of two starting up on the other cheek.
What could it possibly be? Any experience with this?

It could be impetigo. Call your dr; it won't go away on its own.
