Butternut Squash Soup

Lasagna, Penne a la vodka, or eggplant parmesan
Salad
Garlic Bread
Green beans

Don't be worried about the fact that they are "fancy people". All people like good food, it doesn't need to be fancy.

Pasta with Roasted Garlic and Cherry Tomatoes – (recipezaar.com)
4 c cherry tomatoes, cut in half. 12 cloves garlic, coarsely chopped. 1/4 c olive oil. 1/4 tsp dried basil. 1/2 tsp salt (or heaping kosher salt). 1/4 tsp hot pepper flakes (or slightly less cayenne pepper). 1/4 tsp black pepper. 400 g pasta (1 package). 1/4 c chopped fresh parsley (optional). 1/4-1/2 c parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 400°. In a bowl, toss halved cherry tomatoes and garlic with olive oil, basil, salt, cayenne and black pepper.
Transfer to an 9x13 foil pan and roast at 400° for approximately 30 minutes, or until tomatoes are a little shrivelled and garlic is tender.
Meanwhile, cook pasta in a pot of salted boiling water until al danté. Drain and return pasta to pot. Toss with tomato mixture and parsley. Serve with a sprinkle parmesan cheese.
