I received a phone call for a charity {tzedaka}.
I have never heard of them but gave a donation----- how can I find out more information about this tzedaka in brooklyn????
I looked it up online but did not find anything. Rolling Eyes

ask them to send you an envelope and printed matter in the mail.
you can also ask them for their tax ID # I/o to make sure they are a non profit.

Are there any other way to tell whether one is a legitimate charity organization or not, I get so many envelopes asking for tzedaka, but how can I tell what's legitimateand what's not?

I heard that you should be wary of sending to an address that is a PO box and not a real address.
