u gotta bring back candy thats only kosher in israel like kinder chocolate and shoko (chocolate milk in a bag)

it's not because it's not kosher, it's because there are shipping laws that don't allow certain dairy products called "grade A dairy" to be shipped from outside US, such as milk and cottage cheese. blame the dairy union. some states are stricter than others about this.

I love this thread! I like hearing what people like about israel, as opposed to what they don't like about it. I'll add something to the list as well. 'Kal kugel' syrup for easy making of yerushalmi kugel (if you like yerushalmi kugel). Vanilla pudding/jello mix in the big jar (I don't think they sell it like that in the u.s.). Chocolate - like elite, or klik. If I think of more things, I'll add later...

I'll be in Israel for Purim, and I will travel light so I can go back with a ton of stuff Wink

Give me ideas of what I could buy in Israel? I want stuff that isn't easily found here, and I want to contribute to the growth Wink

I already know I want:
one or two Irish Ponies
Michal Negrin stuff
Kosher low carb ready made meals
Cinnamon chewing gum
One or two snoods with a net (I was told in Geula)
Cheese from Mahane Yehuda shop
Hebrew letters you put on doors of kids forming their name
Something for the door saying "mishpacha whatever"
Dh wants a wall poster with the rishonim and acharonim and their dates

Any idea where I can find?

For dh: what are the new good seforim?

For dd: what kind of kid stuff (games, etc) can you find? do they sell not too expensive kiddie books in French?

Ruchel, there is a book store on Meah Shearim that sells only french books (I''m pretty sure its french, it definitely is not english) I don't know how the prices are but it's worth checking it out.

Fancy cheeses (like the really stinky types LOL)

- Hebrew letter magnets
- Greeting cards in Hebrew
- G.R.A.S (accessories chain) jewelry and ornamental plates (they make very pretty glass plates but you need to be very careful in wrapping and handcarrying them)

- mesh kind of tzitzit katan
- non-sugar jam
- osem jelly mix in flavours I can't find here (like grapes, apricots)
- DATES (can't get hechshered ones here) and date syrup
- wine
- green tehina (packed in double plastic bag)
- BIG bags of Bissli (we get only small bags here)

When I read this, I laughed because that's usually what you bring back from here. I didn't even know they sell it there. Almost everything milichig is made with it. And I plan on bringing my sister some alfajores and it's made with dulce de leche.
