My daughter also has JIA and Uveitis. From all of my research, and what I've been told by doctors (including top-uveitis specialists in the country), there isn't really a cure for it (although some children "outgrow" it), but they have treatments that put it into "remission". To that end, my daughter is currently on long-term, low-dose chemo to try to put her, very stubborn, uveitis into remission.

In terms of taking the medicine, I find what works for my daughter is good old-fashioned bribery, although my daughter is much younger than yours. Still, at your dd's age she might be interested in earning something she really wants. Take the meds, get a point, and after x number of points, you get a new outfit, to go on a trip with a friend, whatever.

Out of curiosity, what Dr. do you use to treat the uveitis?

I realize that this is a very old post, but I am wondering how both your DD's have been doing since then, and if there are any other mothers with kids who are struggling with this very stubborn condition.
We have been dealing with this for the past 8 years. B"H it only impacts one eye, not both, and also B"H kid's vision is intact. We are grateful for both of the above. What seemed to have helped keep things somewhat at bay so far are the steroid drops, an anti-inflammatory diet, and many different herbal supplements / vitamins. But she still has relapses, and we have to monitor closely; going to see the doctor quite a few times a year. Now that DC is in high school, it is more complicated to be absent for doctors visit, and we chose not to let the HS know, due to DC's privacy concerns.
