just make sure than McNeil didn't manufacture the generics. it should say on the bottle if they did.

oh and my pharmacy said that no pharmacies have received instructions yet about which products to remove. so you have to assume that the current products on the shelves are included in the recall.

What's the reason for the recall? I have the infant tylenol and already administered a few doses. Should I be concerned?

What is the reason for the recall? I have a bottle of generic sitting in the closet, I guess I'll check it when I got up Wink

for a couple of reasons:

some bottles have too much of the active ingredient

some bottles have too much of the inactive ingredient

some bottles have been found to have pieces in them. some even have metal pieces.

not a single one of these reasons thrill me. especially since they are recalling 2 years worth of medications.

so then I shouldnt be nervous that most of the tylenol bottle is finished?

What do you mean? I wouldn't continue using it. I would get a new bottle.

Of course im getting a new bottle!

What I mean is should I be nervous that I gave it to my kids (before I knew about the recal)?

No I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Most of us have given our kids tylenol or motrin in the last 2 years. Not much to do about it now. Especially since they said that there wasn't an actual event that prompted this recall. It's one of those better safe than sorry ones.

I spoke to the pharmacy yesterday. That was what they told me then. Today could be different.
