Supreme Court Nominee is different than Justice. Obama nominated her. Congress has yet to approve her. And we already have a Jewish SPJ - Ruth Bader Ginsberg. I don't forsee this being very problematic.

Maybe. It depends on whether the senators up for re-election want this used in their campaigns by their opponents.

If Aharon Barak, the ex-Chief Justice of the Israeli Supreme Court, is the role model of Elena Kagan and views him as her "judicial hero", the picture is clear. Religious Jews have nothing to rejoice about.
And with this you can understand why Obama picked her...
