my baby is 6 month old . I am first time mother. wondering if its ok to take baby out to bring him to babysitter w ho is ten minutes away walking in this heat? is a baby this age ok in the heat for a short period of time ? how does it work ?

Your post attracted my attention because a female cat or dog is said to be 'in heat' when their hormone levels rise and they are instinctively compelled to mate....so it was a pretty funny title.
Sorry if you are not familiar with this expression....I am sure you did not mean it....

with sunscreen and a hat it should be fine. give the baby few oz of water in a bottle to make sure he/she is hydrated. I have done it with my baby- even just to take a walk. I think they mind it less than you and I in the heat.

I think a short walk is ok as long as you give him drink when you get there and get him into air condition.
but I wouldn't take my 3 year old out in this weather, or even myself.
I take a car from the door to wherever I need to go
my son happens to be extremely sensitive to sun, if he has too much sun exposure he can run a fever
My main concern with such little babies is that they cant talk, they cant tell you what they need.
So its always best to treat them with more care.
But again, I still think a short walk is ok. Make sure hes shaded with cap or carriage...
