The floors are checkerboard parquet.
I need them scraped.
Does anybody know who will do a great job?
I scraped 2 years ago and did a satin finish and the floor looks horrid now.

Also any recommendations as to what finishing I should get?
Thanks!

I'm doing moisture cure with a glossy shine. Also, if you scraped 2 years ago, you only have to do a screening.

my husband said friedman's is the best just from hearing word of mouth, but we never had any work done by them.

they did give us a good estimate to scrape and fix my parquet floors, but we didn't end up going with them because we were sick of the floors and installed laminate ourselves for the same price.

Thanks nicole81!
That was a big help!

Would you by any chance happen to have their #?
Or do you know where they are located so I can try to look it up?

I used friedmans almost ten years ago and it still looks good! I believe they are in Williamsburg.

So I double checked and seemed to have gotten the name wrong embarrassed
I was referring to Fried's from Williamsburg. I am unable to find any Friedman Flooring....
Is that who you people are referring to?
If not, do you know where I can get this Friedman's #?

funny you should ask because as I was scrolling down the list of topic I said to myself-- wait a minute, was it friedman's or fried's?? then I opened this up... I double checked with my husband and he said fried's.

Yup! I hear Fried Floors does a good job. My parents will also be using them shortly!

Good Luck.

Out of curiosity, what is the price range for having a floor scraped and polyurethaned..or whatever needs to be done for the floor to look normal. The guy who originally did our floors was horrible, and now (nearly 6 years down the road) they look awful!

I just used Fried's and they are excellent. Need to screen every one to two years.
