Dear Customer,

We are contacting you because you have purchased an Abbott Similac Powder Formula product from Diapers.com:

As you may have heard, Abbott (the makers of SIMILAC®) is voluntarily recalling certain lots of Powder Infant Formula products. Abbott is recalling these products following an internal quality review, which detected the remote possibility of the presence of a small common beetle in the product produced in one production area in a single manufacturing facility. The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has determined that while the formula containing these beetles poses no immediate health risk, there is a possibility that infants who consume formula containing the beetles or their larvae, could experience symptoms of gastrointestinal discomfort and refusal to eat as a result of small insect parts irritating the GI tract. If these symptoms persist for more than a few days, a physician should be consulted.

The following is a list of the select Similac Infant Powder Formula products that Diapers.com carries and that have been recalled:

Ugh.
My 8 month old is on sim sensitive and we bought a huge case of it a few months ago from costco and the whole thing was recalled. So we've been feeding him this formula which in itself is really upsetting me (though B"H he didn't seem to have any tummy aches over this period of time....)
So then DH and I were like ok where do we go from here....I said lets switch to enfamil so we bought enfamil lipil and enfamil gentlease. We tried both and DS refused both.
So now we got similac sensitive liquid - we figure temporarily - since it is so expensive and it's a pain to always have to warm up bottles esp for the middle of the night feedings. We heard no liquid was recalled. DS is taking his bottles again.
I don't know what to do - I am hesitant to use sim sensitive even if it's not a recalled pack because in 3 days it could come out it's recalled so I am just going to wait it out a bit and stay on liquid. I wish DS had been open to switching to enfamil but he wouldn't.
