The voting doesn't bother me, because it's a phone-in-vote show - they build fan support into the scoring mechanism. There are reality shows, like Top Chef or Step It Up and Dance, where the competition is based only on expert judging, but when they add fan votes into it, well, this is one of the things that can happen. I've never watched American Idol but I gather similar things have happened there - clearly superior singers have lost to people who had a broader or more devoted following. If it were only about competent dancing, Bristol would have been gone a few weeks ago.

It's just fun to watch the dancing, though. Go Kyle!

My only concern is this: Is there any chance that Maks and Brandy were voted off because Maks looks Jewish?

Does it reek of anti-semitism, or am I paranoid?

No, it was the Palin supporters who voted in droves.
This is democracy. And this proves how the people who don't vote, don't get a say.
I found out about this show and Bristols' involvement about 2 weeks ago. Last night I voted for Jennifer Grey. Five times. It was an 800 number.
I'm glad I was part of the winning outcome, it woudlve been awful if the worst dancer of the season wouldve won. Bad enough she came in third!
The clips on youtube are awesome. Boy can some of these people dance!!

Did Shawn Johnson deserve to win over Gilles Marini?

Contestants win because viewers vote for them. Did Kelly Osbourne deserve to be in the finals? Was she a better dancer than Bristol? I don't think so. And guess what --- there were no death threats, or white powder sent when Kelly O was in the top 3.

The hatred being spewed against Bristol is unbelievable. She did nothing wrong. All she did was show up for rehearsal and work hard.

I have long felt that ABC should change the voting rules to give more weight to judges' scores so that the best dancer wins. On the other hand, is it fair to have professional entertainers / Olympic champions compete over people who have no dance or stage experience? How is that fair?
