I had to leave the house and didnt come back as soon as I'd hope, leaving a cake in the oven too long (it did go off, so it's not overcooked, just sunken in and a little hard on top).
Is there anything I can do to make it better?

Cut the top off and use the rest to make trifle.

You can make rumballs. They're super easy to make, you just have to process it into crumbs and add oil, sugar and flavorings and then roll in your favorite toppings (sprinkles, coconut).

Crumble the cake and mix with your favorite frosting. make rumballs with that.
