As someone who previously listened to very good secular music (gasp Wink ) I am always searching for some good Jewish "equivalents" and find them hard to come across.

What are some of your favs? Male or female...

TIA

Our house is very quiet. After the kids grew out of Uncle Moishey, that was that.

Would you consider instrucmentals ?

Eitan Katz unplugged is great and also Lanzbaum. They are both acoustic so if you like that kind of thing they are great. Also Yosef Karduner is good.

I second eitan katz. I have his latest baruch hu, but unplugged is also great.

moshav band is also great.

I agree with CM, instrumental music, and there is lots of jewish instrumental, is also sometimes very nice.

Sarit Haddad is very modern! I'm told Matisiyahu too.
Chirel? Keren Ann? Noa?

Many like Gad Elbaz, Idan Raichel, Meleha...

I really like Basya Schechter. Neshama Carlebach's album she did with the Gospel choir is really nice...

There is a band called Rashanim- very much Jazz, not exaclty "Jewish" per se, but incorporates Jewish music sensibilities.

There is not a lot of Jewish music that I genuinely enjoy. If I'm in that mood, I generally go more Israeli, like Idan Raichel Project or Fools of Prophecy.

Balkan Beat Box- AMAZING, Jewish/Latin fusion and you can dance to it!

Levyatan is good too. He's 80s style.

He has 3 or 4 CDs out. This is his first:

I like lev tahor. their orchestrations are a bit out of the box, not the typical horn heavy stuff. I like malky giniger, shalsheles (not junior)
