what type of sponge do you use to wash your dishes on shabbos?
Something that cleans but isn't usser to use.

Best solution: Dont wash your dishes on shabbos! Use plastic dishes. That's what I do

AFAIK, the plastic steel wool is OK, and it does a decent job of cleaning. I don't like the brushes, but those exist as well.

I use the bristled brush with the round top, they are great! (I only wash something if I need to use it again, if not I leave it for after Shabbos)

A relative of my dh, who lives in Bnei Brak taught me to use a clean plastic bag for washing the drinking glasses. (the kind of bags used for shopping for fruits or veg's)

It works really well at removing the fingerprints. Just be careful, because the soapy glasses are slippery.

B"H

A scrubber, not a sponge, that had a built in soap dispenser. I found it at Walmart and thought, "Hey this is perfect for Yom Tov."

I also use the round brush w/ built-in soap disp. (I don't fill the soap disp. up though, b/c mine leaks. I bought it at Walmart or a store like it.) I find that it rinses much cleaner than the mesh plastic brillo-type sponges. The latter traps much grime within the mesh. Yuch! Mad

I also use a cheapo- plastic baggie to wash on shabbos. I didn't know Rabbi Barclay said that's the best way-- how does everyone here know him?

Just scrunch it up into a ball and wash away! Try it tonight and you'll see...

A shopping bag or a sandwich bag?

A shopping bag. A sandwhich bag would be too small--you need what to scrunch up and scrub with. Actually, in Israel our fruits/veggies come is bags a bit smaller that regular grocery store plastic bags. I find them to be the perfect size. But a regular grocery store bag will work as well. Really, try it tonight! I think it's the perfect way to do it! I always have too many plastic bags around the house anyway. And I love that it's one less thing I need to store in my kitchen. After Shabbos, I just through it out!
