I'm looking into getting ds a captains bed or trundle bed. I want something solid wood from a reliable company. I have been looking online and it seems I can only find what I'm looking for in the $1000 range. That seems a bit over the top, but I know nothing about furniture.

Any opinions?

Are you in the NY area? Check out www.katzfurniture.com - they have excellent prices on top quality stuff. You can tell them what you want, show them a picture and they can give you some options. They are very well priced.

I bought a triple bunk for $1200 after I bought some thing cheap that went to garbage in furniture - you get what you pay for
