Help! 9 month old baby has thrown up 4 times in the past 36 hours. He'd been eating solids about 3 times a day until now but should I go to back only nursing until his stomach calms down?

I would think so, yes. in general, try to limit solids to only the most easy digestible with a child (or person) of any age who's throwing up.

fyi: when you switch back to nursing only his diapers are going to look like "baby diapers." more runny and such. he may have diarrhea from being sick, but keep in mind that the diapers are going to be more runny just from the fact that you are only nursing him.

refuah shleimah. mother's milk is the best for an upset stomach. you don't need pedialyte or any other supplement; your milk is the perfect thing.
