I'd like to take voice lessons; could anyone make a recommendation? If you're making a recommendation I'd like to know whether you have tried it yourself.
I live in Boro Park, and prefer someone local if possible.
Thank you very much!

You should post on broadwayworld.com and ask about a female teacher. Everyone on that site is an aspiring broadway star, and many have taken voice lessons, I'm sure they can give you tons of names and numbers.

OP here,
The reason I want to take voice lessons is cuz
1. As a teacher, I need to learn how to use my voice more effectively, as I tend to strain my voice and then get hoarse.
2. As a single mother, I lead the zmiros in my home and here too I need to learn to use my voice more effectively.

op- based on your goals, it sounds like you actually want vocal therapy, which is provided by speech language pathologists. Simi Blitman specializes in voice, as well as others in brooklyn. (simi is a man, if ud like a woman, I know a great therapist who does private therapy in her home now)

You can ask Kineret. I know she has a womens’ group at her studio every now and then and she has a great personality. Drop her an email from her website http://www.kineretonline.com/

Be prepared to learn more about Shmiras Haloshon and Midos in the package deal!
