equal amounts of soy sauce & brown sugar is great as a marinade for meat.

sorry I wasn't clear. ground meat sauce to put together with pasta or rice.

You can saute the meat with onion, garlic, and spices.
Add mushroom sauce to browned meat.
There are many sweet sauce recipes out there as well.

I've posted a recipe for meatballs in non-tomato sauce before. It's based on grated carrots.
