| |
Does anyone have any good techniques on how to prevent the watch from getting an odor from regular wear in the summer? I tend to sweat a lot and my last watch had to be ditched only because of the smell. I hate the bands that aren't made from leather, so that's not an option.

Other than taking it off when you're washing dishes, no suggestions.
I did want to point out that you can get replacement bands. I replace bands every 1 to 2 years. _________________ "I dig every second

I heard that Murphy Oil works great. Rub it in and buff it when it's new, and then clean it with it after that as well. _________________ Really Awesome Mom!

The Murphy Oil you use on wood floors, or is there a specific Murphy Oil for leather?

A lot of people don't wear watches anymore. They say their cell phones have the time.
I have a clock in every room of the house, too.

Pledge spray works for leather. Use it once a week, or as needed, and rub it in with a cloth rag.
I know there is a Murphy spray. Never knew it works for leather.. _________________ Every Jewish Mom Is A "Working" Mom..

So I'd spray it on the back of the band and then rub it in with a cloth?

Sorry I wasn't clear. Spray a small area on a (cotton) cloth and rub it into the leather.

Thank you. Would you do that only on the 'wrong' side, or on both?

Use as JustPlainMe's directed for Pledge.
(Btw, Murphy Oil is a phenomenal pretreating detergent to use on very dirty clothes like white socks, babu's undershirts, etc.)

I think I'll try the Murphy Oil because I have that at home already.
