I think nicknames normally just come about as the child grows! sometimes I find people just make up new nick names for me even now lol! I think any nickname you have for child is fine as long as she/he likes it and it's not rude or anything. actually though there are many names similar to this that are proper names, like carly, kayla etc. not that that matters though!

Just remember that Caylee Anthony is the florida toddler whose mother Casey was found by a jury to be not guilty of her murder, more because they didn't believe the evidence sufficed beyond a reasonable doubt than because they actually believed her to be innocent of the charges.
personally Caylee sounds very non jewish to me, especially spelled that way. Chavalee seems more natural, though I agree with amother that nicknames ought to develop of their own accord rather than be forced.

I don't like it. It sounds like a nickname for Kayla.
I know some Leah's who are called Laykee. I think that's a better choice.
