Last night at dinner ds (2yrs old) started crying his mouth hurt and wouldn't eat anything more. He had a little drink and then went to sleep. Today he's drinking and acting fine, but when he ears anything hard he starts crying that it hurts and stops eating! What could it be? Is there anything I can do? He's drinking a ton so im not so worried about him dehydrating, but what could be in his mouth that makes it hurt so bad?

strep? I would take him to the DR. It sounds like the back of his throat or tongue hurts. Could be viral or bacterial...
I actually have this now. I can tolerate drinking but haven't been able to eat pain free for about a week now.
I'm gonna take my own advice and go to the DR. as well.
