My great grandfather was called Zvi and his English name was Harris.
My brother is named after him and on the birth cetificate is zvi .
Do you have to give him an english name? Can't you just keep his hebrew name?
Mazal tov and much nachas!

My uncle goes by Harry (when called an English name). I don't know if it's on his birth certificate or not.

I know two people with the hebrew name Tzvi who are called either Bill or Billy.

Is there a connection?

tzvi means deer, so I like the old english HART

are you naming after someone? what was his english name? you could always do modern twists on old fashioned names (for example, my cousin named her son harrison in english, a modern twist on horace)

tzvi is one of my favorite names in the world Smile

I'm surprised at all these Harry responses. I haven't heard of that!

I know ones with S names. I guess similar to the starting letter? Sam and Steven.

Another one for Harry. My brother Tzvi was named after my grandfather who's name was Harry. My (not-religious [yet - who knows?]) cousin was also named after this grandfather, and his name is Harry.

Well, on the same vein as Tzvi = Hart... Tzvi = Buck... a bit redneck, but whatever.

My great-uncle was Tzvi Aryeh. His English name was Henry.

DH is Zvi and Herman
If he could rechoose an English name for himself it would probably be Zac.
Something that starts with the same initial is always useful, especially nowadays with email addresses you just put z.surname@gmail and then it can be used for personal and public use.

Bill or William is more commonly used as an english name for "Zev" (which translates as wolf)
