Please Please excuse my ignorance.
My 8 yr old daughter was telling me that a girl in her class was discussing deoderant with her and Istarted feeling very incompetent for not introducing this to her yet although I really don't think there is a need for it yet.
When does one start using deoderant? I have no recollection when I started.
On another note she has recently been complaining about vaginal itching after every shower - any ideas anyone what that can mean?
Thanks

They should start to use deoderant when they start to smell.

The itching could be from scented soap...try Ivory, Dove or baby soap. If that doesn't help, maybe an infection:(

re deodrant, when she starts to smell
re itching, could be a number of different reasons. you need to ask more questions. if it's in there someone's gotta check if it's red or ask her to describe what it feels like, could be thrush or a rash.
If it's over her pubic bone area, could be she is starting to grow hair and as they push through the skin it could be itching.
