I am trying a recipe that calls for goat cheese. What type of cheese is it and what can I substitute it with(since the sound of it makes me want to puke)?? Thanks

Why is goat milk more puke-worthy than cow's milk?
Goat and sheep milk based cheeses are SOOOOOOOOOOOO yummy. I LOVE feta cheese crumbled in a salad or melted on top of a slice of pizza.
I recommend you go to your local cheese seller and ask to taste a bit....

I'd also suggest that you taste it...
I've recently "discovered" goat cheese & it's delicious.

Goat cheese can smell pretty awful so I can understand the aversion. It took me a lot of years to get over it.
I think you should give the goat cheese a chance if you can. It's definitely unique - in a good way. Feta would probably be the closest substitute.
