Someone once told me that there are chemicals that start to change their compossion over time. So thats why it says to throw out after 48 hours. If you don't need much. Get the freezer pop versions because they come it some amounts. My sons was hard to get him to drink that stuff.

I believe it's actually because of the potential for bacterial growth.

And you can get small (6-8 oz) multi-pack containers of regular pedialyte, or make your own (many medical sites have recipes--it's basically water, salt and sugar.

actually, my siblings pediatrician recommended POWERADE over pedialyte for my brothers when they had a virus complete with the works, I.e. vomiting and diarrea... (sorry guys for the gory details)

they were much happier drinking the powerade. Smile

well, the choice of colours helped.... and this drink is adult-friendly too!

B"H

There's a product called Smart Water that is water plus electrolytes. I use this in place of pedialyte and it seems to do the job. My kids have no problem taking it because it tastes like water. You can buy it at any supermarket and health food store.
