My AMEX thread seems to have generated much interest, so I thought I would post Mastercard's holiday deal as well. There are a lot of retailers doing gift card with purchase deals (I have posted them on my blog) but this is one of the better ones. Do NOT buy just to get the gift card, it is not worth it. But many people spend this much anyway and if they had just registered their card, or put it all on the same card, they would qualify for the gift card.

Basically mastercard is offering a $20 gift card for anyone who registers their card and then spend $200 online with that card. If you were going to buy a product on the web (stroller, chanukah gift etc.) or routinely do a lot of your shopping online, and you have a mastercard, then you might as well register your card. It is free to register and if your purchases happen to qualify you get a gift card for cash.

Details on registering are here:

If you see any such incentives for VISA cards please post! I have the Chase Freedom VISA (decent rewards) and refuse to apply for more than one credit card.

Thanks JAWS!
