My kids can't get enough of the latest MMM. Its coming out of my ears.
I found two things that really make no sense on this volume. (Besides for the actual fantasy of it)
One of them is that vol. 3 officially took place in 1991, and in vol. 4 which is officially 1 week later, reagan is president. Did anyone find the other one? Hint: time zones

I haven't heard the new one, but I'm pretty sure that volume 3 took place in 1986. The whole time in the time machine, he's worried about how he's going to get back to 1986.

Oh my, I know every tape by heart! My kids can't get enough of it. In the third one, shnooky gets lost in time and ends up in 1968, twenty years where he belongs, in 1988. So I think Regan really was president then.

yes French Fry, my husband also figured out the discrepancies in time zones!
when it was afternoon-evening in the USA for Shnooky and Shloompy, the kids in Israel were already eating breakfast (and bentching without Hislahavus )

Hey, it can work if it's 9:30pm in america (or something llike that cuz they go home at 10..yea I hear it on average twice every single day) and there's a 7 hour difference. that would make it, um, 4:30am Maybe this is a really early soccer game...
At the very least, at least it's somewhat pleasant to listen to so many times

My big issue is that Ramat Beit Shemesh was started in the 90s as far as I know...

The whole Beit Shemesh middos alert is awful. The accents are horrible. If they are anglo with American parents they wouldn't have an accent. If they are Israeli, they wouldn't speak English to each other. Why does dad say "bentching" and not "bircat hamazon" like an Israeli would? Why do they call him Daddy and not Abba? That whole part is just really bad.
Also, it's called a headband, not a hairband.

Somehow I think that hearing the hislahavus song during bentching is a major hefsek

And none that I know, which I think makes sense- they learn english from their parents, not from english speakers with Israeli accents, but I guess Abe Rottenberg knows the same kids you know!

Many of the Israeli kids of American parents that I know do have Israeli accents -- although mostly the ones whose families have been here for a while. Although they learn unaccented English from their parents, since they are in a Hebrew speaking environment most of the time, they develop many of the rhythms and sounds of native Israelis.
