My son has Crohns disease..
I noticed that when I limit what he eats that it controls his symptoms of his disease.
So far it's nothing dairy, nothing fried, nothing with preservatives (I.e. hot dogs, cold cuts, etc).
While I wish I could go completely gluten free, it just seems almost impossible due to the cost and his lack of appetite for it.
He is ok with rice, chicken, chicken soup
Spelt matzah, matza brei, eggs
Potatoes
I tried gluten free waffles, and he freaked. But he seemed to handle regular waffles and seems to handle bagels. I have tried rice noodles, he said they taste weird. I tried quinoa noodles, he was less than thrilled and barely ate. I tried regular noodles and it did not seem to spin him out too much.
Basically he's a very fussy child, and I am at a loss of what to feed him.

Turning 12 this coming shabbos, we have been dealing with this for a number of years.
I only have to be strict with his diet when he is having a flairup...those are usually the hardest weeks to get him to eat...

I just wanted to wish you hatzlacha, though I don't have any input. My son was dx a few months before his bar mitzvah and we tried SCD. You can imagine what that was like....
