I just bought a few shells from the Shell Station, and the neckline is way too tight! They say they dont have any with looser necklines, and I find those horribly uncomfortable. Anyone know where I can get shells made from a 'better' fabric (the kind from the Shell Station) but with a looser neckline? I need to be able to breathe normally!

you can cut the tag in the back in half it opens the neck a little.

There is a store in flatbush that sells a brand called only hearts but it is open, maybe too much for you.

What fabric are you referring to? shell station has lycra, cotton, and modal.
You might like kikirikis better. I think the neckline is a bit looser. They're tighter on the sleeve though if that bothers you.
Just as a fyi- if you wear the shell enough times, the neckline will stretch on its own.

I thought of that, but I have one dress that is cut a bit lower in the back, so it would look a little strange with a 'slit' back there

I wish they would stretch - these are as stubborn as they come. I'm not sure what the fabric is called - it's a shiny thing LOL . I'm off to ask Rabbi Google about the kikirikis.

Fabulous - thanks but I'm not in brooklyn.

Sorry, I'm not understanding you. You're saying I should just cut out a piece of the fabric like where the tag is? I have a dress that is open to mid-back, and I have a sheitel styled into a bob, so if I would do something like that everyone will be able to see it.

I remember you writing that once but maybe you come in once in a while or know someone that comes here occasionally and can pick one up for you to try. They are expensive but I really like them.

I hate the super high neckline on shells - they're almost a mock turtleneck on me. ick. Anyways, I am the self appointed queen of online shopping. Here's what I have found.

1. Kiki rikis now come with a wider neck in a few colors:

2. Kosher Casual makes a version too...definitely covers my collarbone but the material is much thinner. The cream, for example, is a bit see through.

Yeah.
I went up two sizes, actually into a 1x, which I don't wear, just so I wouldn't choke.
Then I took in the sleeves about 1/4 inch tighter(I sew a little).
Maybe that would work.

I'm going to Basic Colors today to check out their shells since they're coming to town, and Double Header should still come before pesach, and they usually bring shells with them. Thanks ladies!

I TOTALLY agree with GAP body or old navy tiny fit long sleeve t's are perfect in my opinion. I really am not a huge fan of the typical shells. The neckline is choking.
