dc has always been active. about 2 or 3 weeks ago, she has started complaining of being too tired a good portion of the day. I'm not sure why. She sleeps a good 10-12 hours a day (and sometimes even takes a nap) and still complains that she is tired. Can anyone help here?

don't know if this will help you, but a little while ago my 1.5 yr old was acting very tired, lethargic... wasn't eating much... Turns out he was iron deficient, and after giving him an iron supplement he was a different kid bh.
good luck!

planning on taking her to the dr. this week. Don't know if they will want to run bloodwork - they usually don't run it on such young kids. I hope they do, esp. if it could be many different things.

You can ask. If s/he says no, mention the iron and that you'd like it to be checked so you don't give supplements needlessly. You and the dr are partners in your child's healthcare. I've often found it's worth it to be persistent.

Don't run bloodwork on young kids? She's 3.5. She's not all that young. Since my DS was 4 months old he has had 4 blood tests (he is now 18 months). 2 of them were regular run of the mill check up tests- that caught anemia just because we checked.

Check her iron levels - she is not too young.
