I am being laid off from my job because they will be hiring a man that can do much more then I do. My boss said I have until 12/31/06 to find a job. THe thing is I was getting well paid until now and to go find another job and start at $12 an hour does not pay for me at all. So I am considering doing babysitting and selling on ebay. Did anyone ever go from working full time to staying at home. I am really scared I will not be able to manage being home a whole day and ideas or input is greatly appreciated.

Only when I had a baby. I did telemarketing for a while.

I hated it.

I was once laid off, and was very nervous about staying home. I ended up finding another job in a bad economy, so you shouldn't write that off so quickly. I think you can make a nice amount of money babysitting in your house, and it's cash. If you think this is something you would like to do, it sounds good. If you are concerned that you won't be happy, maybe consider going to school to do something else.

Being home can be very nice. Just make yourself a regular ruitine. Think of all the fun you can have! Very Happy

See if you are entitled to collect unemployement while you look for something else.

At risk of sounding like an idiot, what routine and what fun are you refering to?

For someone who's used to getting up and going out everyday, it's horrible to all of a sudden not have it. It cuts down your social circle too.
