As long as I was nursing my kids iron levels were fine, but being the picky eaters that they are (as are most kids I know), they will never touch any of the foods that have iron.
So other than giving them iron drops, how do you make sure your kids have enough iron?

My picky eater doesn't like traditional high-iron foods, but this has never been a problem. as in the US, flour is enriched with iron. Store-bought bread (or homemade bread from enriched flour) and other flour-based foods, as well as many cereals, have plenty of iron.

besides trying to get children to eat iron-rich foods, I also recommend routine blood tests.
that's how we found out DS was anemic. No matter how much you try, you should always check..
