I am looking for a dentist for my 3 year old. I need someone who deals with children this age (a lot of the dentists have told me that they only see children 5 and up, or that they will give a check-up to a 3 year old, but will not do any work on them until they are 5), as my daughter most definately has cavities again.
Last year I paid hundreds of dollars at a Pediatric dentist, and I really cannot pay that now.
Where do you take your 3 year olds? Are there dentists out there that take Assurant Dental, and 3 year olds as well?
Please help!

my dentist takes my insurance (same as yours) but he is not a pediatric dentist. I do think he is excellent with children, though he is not a pediatric dentist. I know that nephews of mine who had cavities at very young ages went to this dentist. If you are really interested in the info (name/address/number) you can pm me or post on this thread that you are interested in the info.

We use Robert Adler and we're happy with them.

I am the OP.
We are using Dr. Waltner, and traveling to his office in Williamsburg. He is the only Pediatric dentist in Brooklyn which is on the B&H Heritage Plan.
(There are also pediatric dentists in Harlem and Queens that are on the plan.)

If you have the PPO plan from B&H, then there are more options. But Waltner is great.

Btw, we used Adler once - he did us a favor by working on our 2 year old. But the filling fell out a few months later, and we had to pay cash at a Ped Dentist to have it redone.

Update:
The Assurant Heritage Plan only offers a 25% discount off of specialist prices.
So we paid 75% of Dr. Waltner's prices. His prices are better than other Pediatric dentists I took my toddler to, and he is really good with the kids.
So as long as your regular dentists under Assurant is willing to accept children under 5, try to use them instead of seeing a Ped - specialist.
(And let me know which dentist you use! I would take my child to a regular dentist, but all of the Assurant dentists that I contacted would not do work on children under 5.)

Do any B & H wives/employees have experience with a periodontist? Or periodontal work? I'm looking for information or advice with both dental plan options.

Thanks, but isn't he general dentistry? My dentist Dr Lazarus whom I think is fantastic but also expensive and probably won't take DeltaUSA told me he would like me to see a periodontist. He says I have loose teeth at too young an age and bad gums. So he wanted me to not only get the whole gums pulled back cleaning thing, but also to be in the hands of someone who great diagnostic experience.
