You know from time to time, I remember this thread (like last week when I had a bloodspot in my egg Wink) and wonder what happened with Babka's eggs Very Happy

How do you check a hard boiled egg? Even if you cut it in half you can't see what is not on the cut. It seems to me you'd have to cut it into slivers to truly check.

If it's boiled you would see the bloodspot on the white.

No, you just cut it in half and pop out the yolk. I haven't made hard boiled eggs in a long time, but if I recall, the blood may be black (not to be confused with the natural dark green).

Cooking less then 3 eggs can be a problem with a blitstrop, but odd has to do with "zigges".

This is not only with eggs btw.

You mean an even number has to do with 'zugos' and not everyone is maqpid to avoid zugos.

What is blitstrop?
What is the issue with zugos? Why would you want to avoid them?

Rolling Laughter

Blitstrop is when the egg slips out of your hand, and zigges are those things Ziggy Marley wears.

You cut the egg in half and pop out the yolk. Then look at the white of the egg - a bloodspot would be red or black and on the inside (where the yolk meets up with the white). I've seen it.

Blitstrop = drop of blood (yiddish)
Reminds me of my old cousin, zal, saying "goyishe blit" Laughing

Having 3 allows to not check them all if you hold you need to check hard boiled eggs I think
