I need help to plan a party for a kd who's totally stuck on Thomas (train) year after year. The crowd will be mixed, with just a few younger kids, and the rest older elementary and high school with adults.
I thought of doing a butterfly theme with the idea of metamorphosis and changing (applicable at all ages), but he is so stuck on Thomas, that I'm concerned he'll have a meltdown if I ignore his wishes.
It's so overdone in our house. How do I cater to an older crowd with this theme as well???
I had an idea of doing "stations" at the party with different activities, but again, how do you do this when ages range from 3-16????

the party is for him, not for the adults and older kids. thomas is fine.

The older guests are presumably old enough to understand that the party will be geared toward the age of the birthday boy. There is no need to worry about providing entertainment for all ages. If you're concerned about appealing to everyone, maybe have a bigger food variety than pizza and ice cream.

good point. Have adult food and activities the kids up to ten will enjoy. Older teens tend to just enjoy socialising, although if you have fun arts and crafts they may enjoy doing it too.

Thomas is fine. Don't force a theme you like - it's not your birthday. Some of the teens might want to be "party helpers," depending on personality.
