My DD is constantly complaining of being itchy down there. She often rubs that area with her finger because it bothers her. Any ideas what this could be?

TIA

Very likely a yeast infection. Take her to the doc to get it checked out.

See the pediatrician to check for infections- yeast, bacterial etc. In general, it is important to keep the area as dry as possible, moisture provides a breeding ground for fungi (yeast) and bacteria. This is especially important in the summer, when she is likely sweaty and also probably going swimming.

Is it a certain time of the day or more at night? Do you see a pattern? Is it on and off or constantly? If you know this by the time you see your Dr. he might be able to help you figure things out quicker. If this itching business is mostly night time, it's very likely pin worms.

Op here. Thanks for all your suggestions. I don't think its pinworms - firstly its all day and she doesn't wake up from it at night, and secondly, its in the front. Wouldn't a yeast infection smell bad? There is no bad smell coming from the area? I guess I will take her to the doc to check it out...thats probably the best idea!
