Ds was very excited when he came home from school yesterday. It took me a while to catch on.
Ds: I went to the principal's office today!
me: Why?
Ds: My rebbi said I should go.
me: why?
Ds: Remember yesterday you checked my folder and said I have no hebrew homework?
me: yes.
Ds: When I got to school, I saw I did have homework and forgot to bring it home so I did it quickly before rebbi collected it.
me: So why did you go to the principal's office?
Ds: Only 4 boys did the homework so rebbi sent us to the principal for a prize.
I'm tempted to tell him not to scare me like that again, but he doesn't realize that the principal's office is also a place to go for a punishment.

I think its great that a principals office is a positve thing. u don't need to tell otherwise. if and when he'll ever need to visit the principal for a punishment, he will deal w it in a positive way and not think of the princ as a scary all bad guy. ( he already has a positive experience on his side) kol hakavod to this principal!!!!!!!

When I was a kid we also went to the principal for good things, or to show a particularly good piece of work. Definitely better than punishing at the principal's office.

That's great!!! What an improvement over my days in school! My kids also love going to the principals office, because usually it's for exemplary behavior or something like that.
