My dd was burning up friday night. I dont have a thermometer in the house-had to borrow one from a neighbor. (good thing there is an erev here). I was wondering what kind of thermometers people are using these days. I know most are digital/electronic. If you have one of those, what do you do on shabbos?
We ended up taking dd to the emergency room as her fever was high. Her temp was 103.8 when we got to the hospital and 100 when we left 2 hours (after some tylenol, oral steroids and a perscription for medication for a nasty throat infection) later.

Since mercury was banned a few years ago, they came out with a new non electric thermometer that doesn't have mercury in it.
Let me find the name of it.

Digital for weekday, manual for Shabbos (yup, the kind your mom used on you as a kid), only now they are mercury free so no 'accidentally' breaking them and playing with that "fun silver stuff"!

I know what thermometers are out there. I was wondering what other imamothers use. I use them so rarely that when I would need one I probably wouldnt be able to find it!

I have a digital one, but I don't use it anymore because the batteries died and I never replaced them. Whenever I have a baby, I buy a regular one and use that one until it breaks, which it always does eventually.
