So I got a note today from my 3 year old's gan that a case of pinworms has been reported.
DS hasn't been scratching his behind or showing any suspicious symptoms (though the CDC website says pinworms can be asymptomatic), so if I make sure his nails are short and clean and check him for a few nights in a row and don't see anything, can I relax and not worry about treatment? I really don't want to start with suppositories or medication...

If you check and don't find anything, why would you medicate ?

What chocolate moose said. Although it is possible he has the eggs already and they just haven't matured yet, so you may want to check again in a week or 2. My DDs school just had these and DD got them --yuck!! Hope you're spared the grossness.

I would just keep an eye on him. Luckily it's easy to treat.
