My child has developed significant vocal tics. It's going to be months before we can get in to see the neurologist or psychiatrist. Does anyone have experience with this? Her pediatrician mentioned PANDAS syndrome but he won't prescribe antibiotics or anything until she has been evaluated by the neurologist.
I would really appreciate hearing from others with the same issue.
TIA!

Unless the neurologist believes in pandas (most dont) you are wasting your time.
And a psychiatrist can't help you if it's pandas either.
My pediatrician tries a pandas treatment first, does bloodwork too (though the results are not conclusive) and if that doesn't prove helpful he goes the neurological psychiatry route.
If you have reason to believe that this could be pandas, please go for a second opinion. Dr Schulman is one of the experts in pandas and she does do consultations.
