My son in 23 months and has always been a mouth breather. We were spending a week with my parents and he got sick so we took him to a local ped who mentioned that while it could definitely wait awhile, he is likely going to need his tonsils and adenoids out at some point. Our regular ped has never made mention of such a thing, and I'm wondering if we should bring it up with him. Also, DS has none of the other indicators- no eating problems, no speech problems, no sleep problems, doesn't get sick that much- just always breathes through his mouth and sounds kind of nasally. I know, I know, I should ask our regular ped. But until his 2 year checkup, what say those of you with similar experience?

I say if it is on your mind and a month from now will be busy, pick up the phone and ask now.
These days, tonsils are removed a lot less frequently than a generation (or two) ago.
